Joan Boles is deputy director of Bay Area Legal Services and joined the organization in 1988. She is experienced in project design and implementation and is currently the project director for No Place Like Home. No Place Like Home began as a regional pro bono project to correct title deficiencies as a pre-disaster prevention measure. Often, title problems arise in the context of disaster – only those with title are eligible for FEMA and many other forms of disaster-related relief to repair and rebuild.
