Yvonne Parker is a community advocate for improved services for veterans and grandparents raising grandchildren. Ms. Parker served six years in the U.S. Armed Forces and National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge at the age of 33. In addition to her military service, Ms. Parker raised two children and had careers in cosmetology, as a machine operator, and ran her own cleaning service. She is an experienced public speaker and herbalist. When her only grandchild was put into the foster care system in 2012, Ms. Parker became an advocate for grandparent caregivers. Today, she is a vocal proponent of, and visionary for, grandparents’ rights and restoring the dignity of all veterans.
